Tuesdays Are For Inspiration

I think one reason people don't make it to the place they've been dreaming of is because, once faced with the decision of whether or not to do the work it takes to get there, they opt against work. And while a pain reflex exists for a reason, there is something to be said for working through the pain for a worthwhile goal. Don't be afraid to do work, son.

Steve Jobs didn't wake up in high school as the CEO of Apple. He built it.
Michaelangelo wasn't commissioned to paint the Sistine Chapel because he had a good personality. He was painting long before then.
Katy Perry didn't become a pop princess hanging out at home Facebook stalking all day. She was probably doing something in a teeny outfit that caught someone's attention.
Today's inspiration is about doing work.

If people knew how hard I worked to get my mastery, it wouldn't seem so wonderful after all.

I used to think great art happened without argument, and maybe that's not the case. Maybe the things that are most important in this life, you have to fight for.

Part of me wonders if our stories aren't being stolen by the easy life.
-Donald Miller

Those who do not move, do not notice their chains.
-Rosa Luxemberg

Creative work only seems like a magic trick to people who don't understand that it's ultimately still work.
-Merlin Mann
